01. Visit the St. Louis Gateway Arch
The gateway arch was the iconic structure to visually characterise St. Louis as well as a symbol for the Gateway to the West. Tourists have the option to take a tram to the top 630 ft and enjoy breathtaking views of town and the countryside.
The tram ride features exhibits about the history of the Arch and visitors can also view the numerous galleries in the Gateway Arch museums. The Arch is situated in the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Park but it is also visible from anywhere in the city as well as on nearby roads.

04. Learn Wartime History at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield in Springfield
On August 10, 1861, Wilson Creek National Battlefield witnessed fighting between 5400 U. S. Army soldiers and 12,000 Confederate soldiers. Despite the Confederate victory, Missouri saw more battles resulting from it.
The sword belts and hats of General Patrick Cleburn are among the artifacts at Wilsons Creek Civil War Museum. The 4.9-mile routes allow guests to enjoy the Seven-mile Trails that run through this beautiful area and it has a reputation as a great place in Missouri.
05. The Lovely Campus of the University of Missouri is Something not to miss!
It is situated in the center of Columbia and boasts one stunning campus soaring out over the David R. Francis Quadrant. The beautiful setting is rated on the national historical register and has a very high popularity among the local population, tourists and students.
The magnificent Jesse Room has six spectacular columns, which are remnants of the academic building destroyed in a 1912 fire. 06. Tour the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is recognized as the most culturally significant attraction in Kansas City. Besides the world's vast art collections, it also focuses particularly on Asian art. On the grounds is another sculpture garden for the public.
It’s always open to the public, free and the change in the exhibitions makes every visit interesting. The museum provides free weekend fun activities for children each third Thursday of the month, as well as a range of educational programs for all.
07. Visit Jefferson City's Attractions

08. Learn the War History at Kansas City's National World War I (WWI) Museum and Memorial
The National World War I Museum was inaugurated in 2006. During the last few years it was attracting millions of visitors and it was one of the best sights in Missouri. Before building the museum, the adjacent Liberty Memorial remained guarded by police over Kansas City's streets for 90 years.
The Liberty memorial was completed by Calvin Coolidge in 1927, as the living testimony of this great war. During their visit the museum will have interactive exhibitions, verifiable eyewitness accounts and an impressive collection of nearly 755,000 historical objects.
09. Visit Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum
In the Harry Truman Presidential Library and Museum Independence there is an extensive collection ranging from art and historical objects. The museum focuses in part on Harry Truman’s life and times.
Trumans tombstones are located in the courtyard, which is also a model for the Trumans White house. Visitors can take a tour of the Victorian homes where the Truman family lived from 1919 to his passing in 1972. It is furnished by Truman family members and includes additional artefacts.
10. Enjoy the Rides at Silver Dollar City
Silver Dollar town in Branson has incorporated a large theme park with crafts and conservation of 1888 Ozark culture. Craftsmen in the park exhibit glassmaking, basket weaving, blacksmithing, ceramics and confectionery. The site offers many attractions as well as shopping centres, restaurants and live performances.
The Marvel Caves are in Silver Dollar City. In the early 1800s the mining town had its roots and stood on the entrance of the caves. The cave was first discovered by the Osage Indians in the 1500s and is now the target of exploration by archaeologists seeking the Fountain of Youth, explorers of granite and bats and other archaeologists.
11. Titanic Museum
This magnificent Museum of the Titanic takes you through the incredibly tragic ship. As you go inside the museum, you get a ticket that gives you the feeling of a passenger on the vessel.
You can also learn how to walk through the hallway and the boarding house in the middle of the grand staircase surrounded with more than 400 artefacts that were brought directly from the ships and their passengers.

14. Places to Visit in Missouri: Jefferson City

15. Busch Stadium
One of Missouri's best sports activities is to visit the historic downtown ballpark Busch Stadium, which is 46000 seats. Baseball fans probably know the Cardinals have become the first team to win the World Series in their first year at the stadium.

16. Places to Visit in Missouri: Ha Ha Tonka State Park
Ha Tonka State Park has 3,800 acres on Ozark Lake, just a short trip from Camden, Missouri. The park has an incredible beauty and numerous fascinating geological features. It is a natural bridge weighing 70ft with a width of 60ft.
This bridge measures over 100ft in height. A steep sinkhole known as Colosseum is 400 ft deep. The Whisper Dell sink basin contains two crypts known to be hideouts for 19th-century criminals – Robber's Cave and Counterfeiter.
17. National Museum of Transportation
For people who enjoy aircrafts, trains and automobile models, they will enjoy these life-size models on display. It crosses over Missouri borders as America's largest transportation museum as its title suggests. It is an international treasure, at least at the highest level. Tourists can view various exhibitions describing transportation systems from the past.
The emphasis is mostly on railway and locomotive vehicles, and all of the aircraft is covered, including airplanes. Models are shown in real and miniature dimensions. Motors will be separated by scanning and marking.

You will not simply see fish tanks – you walk underwater on ghostly blue walls with lots of amazing marine life that are swimming in the air above. Live feedings can be viewed for anyone who likes shark and stingray food.
If you want to get hands-on contact with animal life there is a water bath with a slippage surface of sea jelly or a sticky surface of anaemones. There will be dozens of exhibitions throughout the museum that give you information about what animals you've seen.
20. Missouri attractions: Elephant Rocks State Park
Elephant Rock State Park is located in the Saint Francois Mountains in southeastern Missouri. There are several geological reserves and a popular hiking spot surrounded by stone and granite boulders that seem to be walking elephants.
The elephant-sized rocks formed from a dome of molten magma that fractured and deteriorated exposing the underlying granite. It has been quarried since 1912 and is now a rock climbing and walking destination and a place of paradise for geologists.

21. Learn the War History at Small Missouri Town at Carthage
Carthage in Missouri is an intriguing wartown that contains Civil War battles, Fortune 500 businesses, folk music artists, and womens rights pioneers. Following a devastating Civil War fire, a rapid revival of Victorian architecture was quickly built and spread across the whole four district boundaries.
Almost 600 buildings and structures can be found within the National Heritage List. Battle of Carthage State Historic Park provides an excellent opportunity to learn about Carthage's earliest times. Explore Lowell Davis' recreation of the 19th-century neighborhood known as Red Oaks II.
22. Visit St. Louis' Missouri Botanical Garden which is also a National Historic Landmark
Missouri Botany Garden, with its 79 acres, is an excellent destination for walks. The garden was built in 1759 and is now considered a National Historic Landmark and is also considered one of the top Missouri attractions.
The gardens have undergone extensive refurbishment since opening the new Jack C. Taylor Visitor Centre. Visiting the Climator was among the highlights of our garden trip. In its enormous dome there is 24,000 square meters of plant habitat of 1400 varieties. The Asian gardens and the Linn House have some of the finest sights on site in this region.
Missouri Botanical Garden is a wonderful spot for a stroll. One of the state's National Historic Landmarks, the gardens date from 1859. If you are visiting St Louis, in the spring season, don't miss the Missouri botanical garden.
23. Visit the Animals at the Saint Louis Zoo
A good free activity in Missouri is to go see St Louis zoo. Bring the family out to see the animals with the cash. There are plenty of furry creatures to see – the zoological center houses almost 500 species.
Currently zoos include six major regions: River Edge Wild, Discovery Corner, Historical Hill Red Rock and Lakeside Crossing. Almost everyone in these zones have specialized animal groups associated with this particular environment.
24. Waterfall Park
Lemuwah & Shutterstock Falls are wonderful attractions in Missouri! It is named for an incredible waterfall that falls over cliff tops and plunges into the pools below. it is covered in boulders and mossy lichens which are like a fairytale. There'll be no hiking in the wilderness for that.
Waterfall Park is a man-built attraction in the center of a metropolitan area. The city is named Independence Missouri which has become a popular tourist destination. There will be plenty of entertainment opportunities including bar, cafe, restaurant, theater and cinema.
25. Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park
Missouri doesn' t know about state parks but Johnson Shutting-in's state parks are exceptional. The “closest in” part of its name is because of its tough rock structures, which are resilient to eroding, forming pools, tide pools or natural springs that are breathtaking. Often they visit the place for sightseeing.
Many others wear swim trunks when the water level is not high. This is allowed, but you need a lot of caution. After you have finished soaking in the water, shake yourself off and go hiking in the surrounding forest.
26. Missouri State Capitol Building
The Missouri State Capitol is the largest building built in Roman architecture and has a massive white dome that stretches across a ridge and is covered with towering columns and archway. But this was a real office which is a very important place in the region.
Tours are available for those interested in exploring the luxuriously decorated rooms. A huge collection of artworks are available for viewing at the Missouri State Museum.
27. Porter's Candy World and Ice Cream Parlor
Porter candy store and ice cream shop - If you want to hit your heels at a high-end restaurant while you licked ice-cream cones, this is the chance to fulfill your 1950s dream. Visitors can take their seats in the brightly lit restaurant areas and wander through the walls covered in jars and boxes.
The Porter's Candy World and Ice Cream Parlor is an Arcadia, Missouri candy store that presents spectacularly colourful sweet treats. Several are frozen — notably its renowned ice cream and malt — and others are warm, fresh baked, with bread cookies and cinnamon rolls.
28. Alley Mill and Spring
You won't find Alleymill and Spring in many Missouri travel guidebooks. This little-known place is just a short distance from the nearest metropolis despite its lack of the glamour of a popular tourist destination. Regardless of the authenticity, Alley Mill & Spring offers it.
This is a real gristmill which served Missourians for many years and whose springs were popular places for swimming in colonial days. It has served as a house, farming school and meeting place in several stages of history.
29. Butterfly Palace and Rainforest Adventure

It also has other fun things going on. You can see snakes at a science center, you could go on a forest adventure through a dungeon filled with hanging vines, or you could spin around the mirror.
30. Roaring River State Park
Roaring River State Park is about 8 miles away from Cassville in Barry county. The park is nestled among deep, narrow and shady valley and is bordered by the rugged Ozark mountains. Roaring River State Park is a popular state park for many reasons, but the presence of rainbow trout in the river is one of the main ones, bringing anglers from all over the place.
